Had a very nice run on christmas morning from North Connel to Bonawe and back.Weather very murky but not much wind and very little traffic.Only 16 miles but enough to blow the cobwebs away. Very scenic but could be a very dodgy road trafficwise as local traffic very fast on singletrack roads and slow for nobody.Good early in the day.Adventurous people could continue on up track to Glen Etive.

Could do a loop over hill to Barcaldine and back, maybe not best road to cycle on back to connel to be fair. Plenty forest track round that way also.

Would only try that loop on Christmas or New Years day.Certainly not in summer with lethal traffic.Supposed to be new cycle track at least in planning around here from Oban to Fort William. We used to take short cuts across the railway bridges in the distant past. Listened very carefully for trains first tho'!Connel Bridge cost 6d for a bike in those days even when we tried to avoid paying by going very early in morning.
