Hello all,
Any help would be appreciated!!
Been coming to Mull for the last 18 years for the rally in October but as I am not competing this year (helping friends that are competing though) thought I would bring the bike! Wanted to do this for a while but struggled with time, so question is where to go? Been studying the OS maps and looking on your site for some off road XC/Trails.
Stopping in Tobermory for the week before the rally so have got loads of time…more than the hours of routes listed on the site (will be trying them!) so looking for any more inside information!
Fairly fit so looking for day outings, technical/climbs/downhill’s…anything!!
Any help with routes, map refs, guidance will be rewarded with a pint in the Mishnish!!!!

| Paul, plenty more out there than on the site. Couple of routes on the mainland worth a look if you fancy also. You got access to a car? The Carsaig route is one I would recomend anyway. Pretty much somthing in everybit of the island that can be linked up to make quite long or short routes with pretty much everything in them. |

Yes I can borrow the van as they will be using the cars for checking the notes for the rally, I will add this one to the list then!
Is it easy enough to follow from the discription on the routes section? or will it be a case of a bit of "exploring" :D

Paul, the route description was written by Jim which is normaly a bad thing. Saying that the route is not to precise in the middle as long as you get the start and know the general direction to head in as you basically follow the coast round. Not to affected by rain this route but very exposed to wind, would certainly avoid a northerly wind.
The one bit that may be tricky though is when you drop down off the high ground(photos 9-11 on route page) where you can turn right and return to the main road or carry on for a longer route, prob allow about 1 to 1.5hrs for this. Basically you go straight up behind the ruins and follow the fence and into the forest. Can give you map refs etc later. Also give you more ideas.

We are on our way up on Saturday and we are stopping with Brian MacLeod in Tobermory who mentioned he might be also be able to point me in the right direction :D
Looking at the wether reports I think I might need long johns and spikes in my tyres !!

I decided not to swim as salt plays havock with my locknuts!
Had a good run round today looped fr Tob up through Ardmore and down through Lettermore to the main road and home through Aros park, but did not find this trail! think I will have to pop down to browns tomorrow :D
