After the mighty Bodach coming in with hints on getting ready for the seasons riding and good weather, and how to watch out for ticks, I was thinking that maybe the web site should have a "serious" section to cover things like this. I'm sure the vast majority of people will see the humour on certain things, while others clearly don't due to something that happened in their childhood, but a range of do's and dont's and hints and tips could be something everyone benefits from.
If kids are going out on rides, surely there should be more focus on what they are wearing (helmets at all times) and any parents should be made aware to check their kids out after an off-road ride in case of ticks, nicks, scratches etc... all means a more professional and safe end to the day for everyone concerned.
General bike hints and tips on how to make sure your bike is road worthy (this does exclude WeeC of course) so that the newer or younger members can check before they venture out.
Facetious replies are always welcome, as are serious ones as well.

If I ever go on a trip with the weec and he has sufficient food and drink with him I will die a happy man . He is without doubt the most miserable, mean, tight c I have ever met . I have watched as he unwrapped 2 slices of stale bread and then looked in his bag to find a filling without success . He then looks at his companions like some sort of lap-dog to see if they have anything to spare .I'm sure that one of these days he will sit up and beg !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I must admit I sometimes take little to eat and drink but it more to do with old age and stupidity rather than meanness. I have never taken the huff at having to share my water bottle Or hidden food in my backpack under the tyrea i dont have . The Banana Gordon is a wonderfull food but mines ends up crushed and spilling out of the netting at the back of my rucksack and when i offer to share everyone politely refuses . |

Yes Mullbiker I totally agree with your posting I experience this quite regular but what really gets on my wick is when he asks for a drink from my (own) waterbottle and he proceeds to flip the lid off and all the **** of the day falls inside then its no use to anybody Do I need to say anymore |

We seem to be moving away from the safety hints& tips here so a tip for you all :- Don't go on long rides ,epics etc for example the 54 mile loop through Cona glen which although spectacular is not I repeat not to be attempted when your only form of sustenance is a banana ,2 slices of bread ,1 biscuit and a mere 750 ml of water ! Ignore this advice at your peril however if you do and having completed such a ride feel feint ,dizzy, disorientated and unable to muster enough energy to lift your bike into the car DON'T ASK WHY !!!!!!!!!! Gina spill about the toilet roll story ! Whoever it refers to wont mind and remember they are among friends here who will I'm sure offer support and will not ridicule in any way !
